Our Story

Chan Cha Tea has it’s origins with an older generation set and active for decades in China. The tradition of tea pouring, tea tasting and of course the tea itself, have been passed down, first through generations, and now, through cultures.

Chan Cha Tea was created to provide Kiwi’s with an opportunity to experience rich authentic tea flavors direct from China’s most revered tea regions. We seek to share and grow the tea tasting culture locally in New Zealand. Sharing tea with others can be a most peaceful social experience, leading one to feel chan in unison.

“Got the white tea as a gift. Really subtle — probably not for people who like bold flavours. But I like that it’s soft and easy to sip while working. No bitterness. Rally good on the cold days”

“Nice and smooth. I’ve been drinking this in the mornings instead of my usual supermarket green tea. It's more expensive but there’s a noticeable difference in quality. Not too strong, which I like."

“The Pu-erh is definitely an acquired taste and takes some getting used to. It's earthy and kind of funky — but I’ve grown to really enjoy it. I use to drink something similar with my grandpa so it's nice to think of him whenever I have it - really authentic!'

"I was looking for a good gift for a friend that has everything when I came across Chan Cha Tea. I went for a Mandarin Puer gift box and it was gorgeous. Smelled really refreshing, even through the packaging! My friend loved it and now we have the odd get together with a cup of Chinese Tea as we try to cut down the coffee!'
